NDIS-funded Therapy Assistance

Do you have NDIS funding to use on a Therapy Assistant?

We offer Physio and OT therapy assistance to support your functional independence, strength, fitness, balance, flexibility and more!

Our head coach, Tim Karajas, is passionate about helping people experiencing a disability. Having trained as a Physiotherapist (1997-2000) and then having worked in that field (2001-2005), Tim offers unique therapy assistant support.

Tim has the knowledge and expertise to work with your therapist to help you achieve your goals.

Tim is currently working with clients who have NDIS funded therapy assistance.

Can I use my NDIS funding?

Yes, you can.

If you have funding for therapy assistance, and what is needed falls within our scope of practice (see below), we can help.

We need to work under the direction of your therapist, but we provide our own professional indemnity insurance.

We happily collaborate with your therapy provider as part of your team.

***We do not currently have NDIS registration, but can accept clients who have a plan-managed or self-managed NDIS plan.

Our Scope Of Practice

We are trained, experienced and insured for this scope of practice:

“AUSactive Registered Exercise Professionals may work with higher risk clientele (whose conditions are stabilised and managed) after making a written referral to and receiving documented guidance on the exercise program from the clients’ treating medical and/or allied health practitioner.”

For our full scope of practice, see here.

Here’s another excerpt to give you an idea of the big picture:

“A member of the public may utilise health and fitness services as a leisure or recreation activity, to complement sporting pursuits, as a means of community participation, or to help prevent or to improve health problems. As such, an AUSactive registered professional plays a significant role in enhancing the overall quality of life of individuals and communities and is a contributor to an individual’s healthcare continuum. The core role of a AUSactive Registered Exercise Professional is to plan and deliver safe and effective exercise programs for individuals and/or groups.”

Note that passive stretching (i.e. therapy assistant performs stretch on the client) does fall within our scope.
